Having just arrived in Thailand and already pinning for some surf I decided to spend two weeks in Bali and lombok, Indonesia. The trip was exciting and hassle free other than a minor motor bike accident which left my foot looking like lasagna.
僕はタイに着くか着かないかのうちに、インドネシアに行った。この旅はとても楽しかったけどバイクの事故があって足を怪我した。僕はサーフィン馬鹿だから、痛みを構わずに海に入った。

The unfortunate result of tipping a motor bike and skidding down the pavement. Luckely my friend's surf board broke my fall or I would have lost more skin and possibly ruined my trip. Motorbikes are dangerous and especially when two people are riding them. Its the last time I will ride as a passenger. |

Bali is predominantly Hindu. They always leave offerings of flowers, rice, and incense in order to make the god's happy and calm. |

At low tide there is a nice swimming hole in the reef at Uluwatu. Here a couple enjoys the last remaining moments of an Indian Ocean sunset. |

Lombok Island
Lombok island is a lot poorer than Bali. Its dry and hilly with a predominantly Muslim population. The waves are sometimes uncrowded and the reefs always sharp. Its like the wild west of Asia.

Main port in Lombok. It was here while waiting for the ferry that I met a very kind old man selling fried rice. We talked for a while, I bought his rice for 50 cents. |
 |
This was his rice. It was really delicious. He spoke a little English and was over joyed at my attempt to speak Indonesian. The cool thing was, I could understand him and I had my first full conversation in Indonesian. It felt great to converse in a fourth language. My studying paid off and I made a new friend. |

Back to Bali. This is the port town/ dive town of Padang Bai. The town is tucked away in a little bay on the eastern coast of Bali. Here I met some of the nicest people I've met while traveling. A worthy place to rest for my last day in Indonesia. |
